Defending her act, Scherzinger replies: "His voice has grown and he's not a big ballad singer. He's a great performer."
Clark is an outsider with bookies to win this year's series, but he is not considered a frontrunner to be booted off in the first elimination tomorrow night.
That honour goes to Louis Walsh's duo MK1.
Walsh had previously defended Clark, saying: "Not everybody is going to love you, but that's okay. You are never going to please everybody."
The live shows kick off tonight at 8pm, while The Jonathan Ross Show, which also features Taylor Swift and Stephen Fry, airs at 10:20pm.
