Rumours surrounding X Factor contestant Chris Maloney's diva-isms have stepped up a notch after new reports today suggest the hopeful stormed out of a mentoring session with Robbie Williams this week.
A source has told The Sun that the star fled the show's hotel and went back to Liverpool, missing a crucial filming session with Robbie. All the contestants were required to attend the masterclass yesterday morning (October 26) but Chris reportedly left the central London hotel where filming was taking place without permission.
He was later spotted at Euston station heading back to his hometown. According to the Sun, producers only tracked him down late yesterday. “Bosses were furious. Robbie’s masterclass was a big deal and to miss it is unforgivable. Now we have to explain why he isn’t there on the show this weekend, a show insider told the paper.
It is thought Chris was feeling the pressure over criticism he received on last weekend’s show and wanted to see his beloved grandmother.
It's not the first time bosses have had trouble with Gary Barlow's contestant. Earlier this month it was revealed that Chris had a chat with producers after they saw him being rude to a member of staff. An insider claimed to The Sun: "Christopher is not making many friends. He was out of line with a researcher and he's been warned by top brass that he needs to wind his neck in or he'll get the shove."
