We're normally used to seeing the cast of The Only Way Is Essex being filmed and then seeing the scenes a few weeks later, but it looks like that won't be the plan of action for this year's Christmas special...
According to reports, the show's bosses are currently weighing up the idea of airing the festive special of the hit ITV2 show, live, with a few old faces making a possible return to their native Essex.
However, the cast won't be able to get very merry on the episode as bosses are set to slap a booze ban on the cast.
An insider told The Sun: "Doing an episode live is a high-risk strategy but everyone is excited about it.
“We’ve banned any booze because we don’t want any funny business happening. The last thing that we need is them all getting a bit of Dutch courage and it ending up kicking off.”
Claiming that Amy Childs could make a return over Lauren Goodger and Mark Wright, the source added: "We’re more likely to ask Amy Childs.
“Nothing has been decided yet — even the cast don’t know they’re doing this."
Tweeting about the news, Lauren Pople wrote: "So did u see the #Towie news this morn...were actually going to film a whole episode LIVE!!! Oh my gawwwwd, r u all gonna watch? #towielive"
