ITV PicturesAxed X Factor finalist Jade Ellis has weighed in on Lucy Spraggan's absence from the show over the weekend, by assuming that the finalist could be "seriously" ill.
Speaking to Entertainmentwise's Georgie Barrat the morning after she got eliminated from the competition, Jade revealed that she didn't see or hear from Lucy over the weekend. She said:
"I haven't actually heard from her. I'm assuming that she's really really poorly. There has to be a reason for why she didn't perform. I just hope that she gets better soon."
Jade added: "She's completely on sick rest. She's probably in bed doing her best to recover. I am assuming it's really serious because she's not been around at all. She must be really really ill."
Despite not being well enough to perform on the X Factor stage, Lucy has automatically made it through to next week's show. A decision that hasn't sat well with axed hopefuls MK1 who believe the ill finalist should have faced elimination just like her fellow contestants.
Speaking to stv.tv, Charlie and Sim said: "I think in terms of away from Lucy Spraggan, away from it being Lucy, I don’t think it’s right for someone to not perform and not to be in the elimination process.
“I think if you’re not going to perform your fans will still vote for you anyway. I just feel it’s a bit… I don’t know what the word is. But it’s a bit 'not right' to bypass the elimination section. I think if you’re not going to perform you should still be up for elimination and hopefully your fans will still vote for you.
"At the end of the day, Kye [Sones] had a really bad throat the week before in rehearsals, he didn’t sing at all and he had to sing against us in the sing-off. And Simeon had the worst throat and didn’t say anything…”, added 19 year-old Charlie.
Get well soon Lucy!
