A few weeks ago omg! were invited down to an exclusive preview screening of MTV's new reality show 'The Valleys'. After watching the first episode we can safely say, you're in for a treat. Here is what you have to look forward to from the latest and welshest reality show to hit our screens.
Nine youngsters from the Welsh Valleys are thrown into the fast paced world of Cardiff where they are guided by mentors Jordon and AK to help them realise their career aspirations. Of course it's not quite as straight forward as this. Alongside their journey to land their dream jobs expect copious nights out, bed hopping and fights aplenty.
Nicole: 19-year-old Nicole has dreams of becoming a stylist. The cheeky red head is also known to strip off for no apparent reason.
Jenna: 21-year old Jenna has a degree in Law. Despite this, Jenna wants to pursue a career in modeling, 'while I still have my looks'.
Liam: 26-year-old rugby lad Liam came out as gay three years ago. He aspires to make it big in the music industry as a DJ.
Carely: 21-year-old Carely has moved to Cardiff to pursue her dream of working in promotions. The bubbly blonde's catchphrase is the demurely put: 'Show me some fitties and I'll show you my titties'. Lovely.
Chidgey: 25-year-old Chidgey rates himself eleven out of ten in looks and dreams of becoming an underwear model. He also likes the ladies. A lot.
Leeroy: 21-year old Leeroy describes himself as an 'Alpha Male' and claims to have slept with over 100 women. His ambition is to become an urban music sensation.
Aron: 19-year-old Aron is a three time world kick boxing champion and is leaving the Valley's in a bid to find 'fitter girls'.
Lateysha: 19 year-old Lateysha describes herself as the welsh Beyonce and has aspirations to become a glamour model.
Natalee: 23-year-old Natalee is by no means a girl's girl. Describing herself as a 'ladette', Natalee has dreamed of becoming a model since she was twelve.
Forget TOWIE's Sugar Hut and Geordie Shore's Ohso, the new place to be seen in is Cardiff's Glam. Owned by mentor Jordon, The Valley's cast seemed right at home in the first episode of the series. Glam looks to be the kind of place that allows its patrons to let their hair down. For example, no one seemed to bat an eyelid when three of the girls decided to simulate a three way in the middle of the dance floor.
Made in Chelsea's Millie dabbled with working as an intern at Glamour while most of the girls in TOWIE either own a clothes shop or beauty salon. The Valley's lot however have to work their way up from the bottom. Episode one sees half the group working as club promoters while the others pose in a less than glamorous beach photo shoot. One word: Octopus.
With any new reality TV show comes a whole host of new phrases to add to your vocabulary. With TOWIE we had 'Reem' and with Chelsea we had 'Yah'. As for 'The Valley's', expect a whole lot of 'Lush' (nice) , 'Peng' (fit) and our personal favorite 'I'm absolutely tamping!' (fuming mad).
The Valleys starts tonight at 10 pm on MTV
