Strictly Come Dancing: Lisa Riley Is Top Of Tonight's Scoreboard

As the last remaining eight couples danced tonight, everyone has had their first dance in the new Strictly Come Dancing series.

There was a range in scores tonight for the couples. With a few shuffling feet, weak lifts and nervous celebrities, the scores were not as high as they could have been. It’s only the first week though, so let’s give them a chance!

After the shock of his original partner suffering from an injury TV legend Johnny Ball received the lowest score of the evening. With 17/40 from the judges him and his replacement partner, Ivet, received many criticisms and advice to help improve on their dancing for the coming weeks.

Even though there were many low scores there was still a lot of budding talent tonight. Kimberley Walsh, who opened the show with her partner Pasha, showed a lot of potential. The judges congratulated Kimberley for her “clean and precise” moves and the ‘wow factor’ in her dancing, as said by Darcey Bussell – who certainly knows a thing or two about dancing!

Similarly, child star Dani Harmer danced brilliantly with partner Vincent Simone. Despite Dani’s worry of them being “a pair of Polly pockets” they were able to prove themselves on the dance floor as real contenders for the sparkly Strictly trophy.

Even though both of these couples, along with many others, were able to receive high scores, they were not the highest of tonight’s show. Lisa Riley managed to get the highest score of 30/40 for tonight’s sassy dance with partner Robin Windsor. This may have had something to do with some of her cheeky moves directed towards the judges, but no-one can deny that the couple showed a lot of energy and enthusiasm on the stage and were extremely entertaining to watch.
