Fans of the X Factor were given a blast from the past when Simon Cowell made a brief appearance on the show during last night's show.
The media mogul, who appeared to have taken a break from the US version of the hit show, appeared on the show to give each of the judges the news of who they would be mentoring as the competition enters the judges house round.
Whilst we only saw Simon for a few minutes during last night's show, new reports have suggested that we could be seeing more of the judge after it was revealed that the bootcamp failed to increase the ratings figures.

According to The Sun, 8.8 million people tuned in to see the likes of Ella Henderson, Lucy Spraggan and Kye Sones make it through to the judges houses - nearly two million down from the 10.2 million people who watched the bootcamp stage for last year's show.
Believing that Simon, who currently sits on the X Factor USA judging panel with Britney Spears, Demi Lovato and L.A. Reid, could be the one to help boost ratings for this year's show, an insider said:
"The UK figures have been slowly dipping since Simon and Cheryl Cole left. The new judges just don’t have chemistry.
“Until this weekend, it was obvious Simon felt he’d outgrown the UK. But with disappointing figures in America bosses feel he may come back to Britain where he’s loved and missed.”
What do you think? Would you like to see Simon back on the show?
