Hollywood veterans Shirley Maclaine and Christopher Plummer are to lead the cast in a remake of hit 2005 Spanish film Elsa & Fred.
Ill Postino's Michael Radford will direct the revamp about a pair of romantic pensioners.
The new film will be set in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Both Maclaine and Plummer are enjoying a career rebirth - Plummer won his first Oscar earlier this year for his supporting role in Beginners and Maclaine recently joined the cast of acclaimed TV drama Downton Abbey.
