Ryan Gosling has already made millions of women fall in love with him through his many swoon-worthy roles, so it makes perfect since for him to portray the loveable billionare from Fifty Shades of Grey.
But what does the kinky trilogy’s author E. L. James think of The Notebook heartthrob being cast for the role?
"As usual, it's all been misreported," she recently told Ryan Seacrest on his morning KIIS-FM radio show. "No, my husband has not spilled the beans."
Apparently, the report of the supposed casting was (unfortunately) all a mix-up and the author explains.
"What happened is that his local paper ... reported on my husband being the inspiration for Christian Grey," she says to Seacrest. "Underneath it, they put a picture of Ryan Gosling as well. So, that's how that [rumor] came about."
Even though she cleared up that casting rumor, James reveals why she hasn't given or even insinuated any names of actors being considered to play the CEO of Grey Enterprises Holdings just yet.
"[It's] far too early in the process," she says.
Seacrest then took it upon himself to play casting director by playing past interviews with actors who may or may not be considered to play Christian that include Jake Gyllenhaal, Chris Pine and Ian Somerhalder.
But other than casting the most-coveted role in Hollywood, James then tells Seacrest that writing one of the most popular novels in history has been an overwhelming experience.
"I wasn't prepared for all this [attention]," she says. "This whole roller coaster has been completely mind-blowing."
