Reverend Al Sharpton 'Tried To Calm' Bobby Brown At Whitney Houston Funeral

Reverend Al Sharpton has revealed that he tried to calm Bobby Brown at the funeral of Whitney Houston.

Photos emerged earlier of Bobby standing outside the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey, with sources claiming that he had been refused entry.

Others claimed that he had entered the church, walked past Whitney's casket and walked back out again, alluding to the fact that his emotions got the better of him.

Now, Rev Al Sharpton has revealed that he spoke with Bobby at the funeral and tried to calm him down.

"I am at Whitney's funeral. I spoke with Bobby Brown trying to calm him down and not distract from the services. Today is about Whitney!" he wrote on his Twitter page.

"I am going back in the services, I did my best out here. Can't tweet from inside the sanctuary, I hope the press will not distort the day."
