wenn / ITV PicturesAs this weekend's X Factor went into the bootcamp stage, judges Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh had a tough few days ahead of them as they had to drastically cut the amount of hopefuls to 24, who would then go onto the next stage of the competition.
Having already axed two thirds of the acts who had made it past the auditions on Saturday night, it was time for the remaining acts to perform once more in front of a live audience before the judges made their final cut from 70 to 24.
After much deliberation, the judges returned to the hopefuls to give their verdict on who would be going through the next stage.
With the categories split up into: Boys, Girls, Over 28s and Groups, it was announced that for the Boys category, James Arthur, Jahmene Douglas, Nathan Fagan-Gayle, Rylan Clark, Jake Quickenden and Adam Burridge had made it to the next round.
Ella Henderson, Amy Mottram, Jade Collins, 'Beer Fear's' Lucy Spraggan, Leane Robinson and Jade Ellis all made it through in the girls category, whilst Kye Sones, part-time fairy Melanie Masson, Nicola Marie, Brad Shakleton, Carolynne Poole and Christopher Maloney all became the final six in the Over 28 category.

Finishing off the final 24, was Mitsotu, Duke, GMD3, MK1 and Poisonous Twins who made it to the judges houses in the Groups category. However due to complications in getting visas for Rough Copy, the category now include Times Red and Triple J, who have now been renamed as Union J after adding a member.
With the final 24 all sorted, it was time for the judges to find out who they would be mentoring for the rest of the show. Having had the Overs category for the past few years, Louis found himself the mentor of the groups, Gary was handed the over 28's, newbie judge Nicole was set the task of mentoring the boys and Tulisa couldn't hide her excitement at being told that she was going to be mentoring the girls.
So with the final 24 all sorted, the judges house stage beckons and the time where the final 12 who will go on to battle it out week after week in the live finals, begins. But who do you want to see sail through the judges houses?
