Contrary to widespread reports, Chris Brown’s new neck tattoo is not of his ex Rihanna or a battered woman.

The new ink he debuted is in fact, a Mexican-themed skull meant to commemorate el “Dia de los Muertos” (the “Day of the Dead”), according to TMZ.

“His tattoo is a sugar skull (associated with the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead) and a MAC cosmetics design he saw,” Brown’s rep told the website. “It is not Rihanna or an abused woman as erroneously reported."

The tattoo artist who branded the Turn Up the Music singer, claims Brown brought him the “Day of the Dead” skull design from a MAC ad Rihanna’s ex had seen.

But coincidentally, Brown and Rihanna did get tatted at the same time – even though neither tattoo had anything to do with each other.

The We Found Love singer showed off her latest addition to her expanding tattoo collection Monday, which is an Egyptian goddess underneath her breasts to honor her late grandmother, Clara "Dolly" Brathwaite.
