New details allege Russell Crowe's partying ways and large ego are the real reasons behind his divorce from wife of nine years, Danielle Spencer.

Things were wobbly from the start for the showbiz couple, who married in 2003. Soon after Danielle fell pregnant with their first son Charles, but instead of staying home to look after his wife, Russell was spotted enjoying a night out at The Dollhouse, a German strip club.

Failing to stop the publication of these photos, the 48-year-old's spokesperson claimed Danielle would have partied with her hubby had she been in town, not resting in their home in Australia, report Radar Online.

Things got worse as the actor continued to party in various continents without his musician wife. RadarOnline.com is reporting that one woman deemed him, "utterly revolting" after he licked her face and tried to cox her back to his hotel room on a night out in London.

Another issue plaguing their marriage was distance. While Russell had settled into their penthouse in Woolloomooloo, Danielle and the kids live in a mansion in Rose Bay, where neighbours have reportedly long thought of her as a single mother.

Even when the Oscar winner was in town he was rarely seen out with Danielle, but usually enjoyed soccer games with their two boys, Charles and Tennyson.

Since October, Russell  allegedly hasn't been home at all. Seemingly avoiding his failing marriage he has been working hard on various films without taking a break and therefore hasn't been home in 18 months. Many sceptics have suggested that the heavy workload is to fund his inevitable divorce...
