Paige Thomas admits she struggled at times with her mentor Demi Lovato on The X Factor USA.
The singer was kicked off the talent show on Thursday along with Vino Alan in a double eviction, and confessed they had their differences.
She told E! News: "Now I can really just be myself. There were a few things that [were] kind of a struggle. I was trying to tell my mentor that I really didn't see it this way, so now I can just go ten-fold on who I really see myself as an artist.
“This has opened so many doors for me, and I'm so excited. I got the exposure that I wanted, and I walked out of this competition being myself, so I can honestly say that I'm going home happy."
Paige is also looking forward to being reunited with her three-year-old daughter.
She revealed: "She called me the other day and was like, 'You need to get home!'"
Regarding her elimination from the competition she was surprised she left as opposed to CeCe Frey and didn’t understand why the singer cried although she was voted to stay in.
Paige said: "I was shocked but what can you do? She was crying which I just thought was weird.
"At this point in the competition, because everyone's so good, you can never really expect anything. I don't wanna say I'm OK because obviously, I wanted to win. But at the same time, I'm somewhat relaxed. I absolutely did my best last night. I absolutely know my performance was no eighth place."
