Khloe Kardashian will allegedly be announced as the new host of The X Factor USA at some point in the next few days, alongside Mario Lopez.

Perez Hilton reports that Lopez, who was originally linked to the first season of the show before Steve Jones pipped him to the post, has now signed a contract to co-host the live shows of the current run.

As for Kardashian, who has been confirmed as a frontrunner by show boss Simon Cowell, TMZ has speculated that her commitments to E!, the network that airs her string of reality shows, is "throwing up roadblocks".

Exclusivity is apparently a condition on Khloe's contract, and E! will have to grant permission for her to front the Fox show.

They are said to be worried that Khloe's relentless promotion schedule will affect her ability to commit to Keeping Up With The Kardashians, and a source has said - contrary to what Perez Hilton reports - that they "wouldn't bet [their] house on" her being confirmed for the gig.

If that deal falls through, Lopez will apparently host the show alone.
