Footballers are known for their love of women, partying ways and general ‘banter’, so it’s no surprise that Kate Middleton took no chances and completely covered up ahead of her official appointment with the England footballers today.
The Duchess of Cambridge was joined by her husband Prince William as they attended the official opening of St George’s Park, the FA’s new National Football Centre, at Burton-Upon-Trent, Staffordshire.
Kate wore a dark grey wool coat by one of her favourite High Street stores, Reiss, and made sure it was done right up, reserving her modesty, especially following the topless pictures that emerged earlier this summer.
Along with checking out the £100 million site, which boasts 12-world class pitches as well as state-of-the art facilities, Kate and Wills also paid a visit to the England football team who were training today ahead of their World Cup qualifier on Friday.
Among the players that could be seen chatting to the Royal couple, were Ashley Cole, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney and Theo Walcott.
Kate didn’t look too out of her depth with the football talk, as she happily entertained the England coach Roy Hodgson. It’s thought that the couple will be unveiling a special plaque to mark the occasion following a short speech by Prince William, who is president of the FA.
According to the MailOnline, a spokesman laughed if Kate had been learning about the offside rule before her engagement today.
“The Duchess knows enough about football already and a lot of today's event is about coaching and schools activities,” they said.
“I'm sure if the offside rule comes up, the Duke will gallantly explain.”
