Kate Beckinsale: 'It's Not Really In My Nature To Do All This Ass-Kicking'

Actress Kate Beckinsale has revealed that, following a small break from the big screen to look after her daughter Lily, she returned to the set of Contraband, where she recieved plenty of bruises.

Speaking to Women’s Health, she said: "I didn't plan on a sabbatical, there just wasn't anything I was dying to do and I have to really make the decision - is it worth me being away from my kid?"

Even though she’s part of the action-packed Underworld series, the actress admits that she’s not a natural when it comes to the action side of things. She confessed, “It's not really in my nature to do all this ass-kicking. When I first started training for Underworld they were like, 'She can't even f**king run!'. And I couldn't.”

“I got more bruises on Contraband than in all the Underworlds put together. It was like, 'Let's not choreograph the fight, let's just see what happens'. And all of a sudden Giovanni Ribisi comes flying into my house and beats the s**t out of me."
