After a week of controversy Heffergate has finally concluded with Katie Price issuing a public apology for making unfavourable comments about Kelly Brook in her weekly newspaper column.
Controversy raged when the 34-year old TV personality labelled Kelly Brook a 'heffer' after seeing pictures of the model and actress modelling her latest New Look swimwear range during a photoshoot in Miami.
“FLABergarsted to see how big Kelly really is,” she sniped in her popular Sun column, adding: “Rumour has it she's been hanging out with our mutual ex Danny Cipriani. Knowing him, I guess she's probably doing a bit of comfort eating.
“You're a heffer, Kelly, but still a hot one.”
Following the publication of her comments Katie was bombarded with abusive comments from angry fans on micro-blogging site Twitter, prompting her to angrily defend herself – but a week can be a long time for a former glamour model and she has since used her column to issue a retraction.
“I'm sorry if I caused you any offence, Kelly. As well as calling you a heffer, which was misjudged, I did say that you were beautiful and hot – and I meant it,” she wrote. “A lot of my friends are bigger than the average girl and I'm not exactly skinny myself – certainly not the size six that some people have talked about.”
Kelly has since admitted that she didn't take the comments personally, but revealed she felt 'disappointed' by mum of three Katie's 'unladylike' decision to air her comments in public.
Despite the controversy Katie was spotted out on the town with third husband Kieran Hyler on Valentine's Day. The couple tied the knot in The Bahamas in January.
