Fears are mounting over Russell Grant's health after the Strictly Come Dancing star fell and sustained a severe knee injury.
The flamboyant astrologer hurt himself during last-minute rehearsals for the Wizard of Oz at London's Palladium Theatre, where he starts a 12-week stint in the title role on Tuesday.
He refused to undergo an emergency operation because he didn't want to miss out on seeing the curtain raise on the West End show.
An insider tells The Sun: "Russell fell on stage and was in agony. It looks like he has thrown his kneecap out of position. He is having intensive physio in order to allow him to make it on to the stage tonight.
"He put off having an operation on his knee as it would mean he is out of action for so long.
"Russell is a true professional and is determined to go on stage even if he is limping."
