Ellie Goulding Wrote About Ex-Boyfriend On New Album 'Halcyon'

Ellie Goulding has admitted that she had to preview new tracks form her album to her ex-boyfriend DJ Greg James before he had the chance to hear it somewhere else.

The Radio 1 DJ dated Goulding for 18 months and split last year. Since, she has started a relationship with Sonny Moore, aka Skrillex. While this romance has blossomed Goulding still writes about Greg on her new album.

Talking about her last record Lights to The Sun where lyrics were also inspired by her feelings with Greg, Goulding said: ''I thought it was really sincere but I listen back and I think, God that was really naive, that was nothing. This time it's the real deal. There's stuff about Greg. I played it to him because I felt that was better than him hearing it randomly somewhere.''

Goulding and producer Skrillex started their romance after emailing each other: ''I remember out of impulse just getting on a flight and going to Memphis. Nothing happened or anything, but I hung out with him and his friends and just had the best night ever. That was kind of the beginning really.''

The singer went public with her new relationship when she accompanied Skrillex to the Grammy Awards where he picked up three awards including Best Electronic/Dance Album.

Halcyon is released on October 5
