A new enemy featured in tonight’s explosive episode of Doctor Who as he donned a Stetson and a gun as he found himself the reluctant sheriff of a Western town under siege by a relentless cyborg named Gunslinger, in episode three of the new series.

The gripping episode titled ‘A town called Mercy’ started with Gunslinger “terminating” his enemies as he searched for the ‘alien’ Doctor.

“What is it?” Amy said. “A load of stones and lumps of wood,” replied the Doctor as the pair set upon the derelict town for the first time.

But all was not fine and dandy as the towns men confronted the couple in the local saloon and took him all the way out of town before setting their guns on him.

“He’s coming. Oh God he’s coming!” one of the men cried as Gunslinger appeared and disappeared before them due to them not being allowed to cross the town line.

But the cyborg needed to find the ‘alien Doctor’ and there was a second Doctor in the town who stumbled upon the town.

“Can I borrow your horse please? Serious Marshall business!” said the Doctor as he set off on his trip to find the Doctor’s crashed spaceship in which he managed to set the alarm off after using his screwdriver before being confronted by the cyborg Gunslinger.

This made him realise that someone must stand trial for all the victims lost in a war.

“You know I can’t do that!” said the Doctor. “Please don’t do this. The town turning against itself is what Isaac didn’t want.”

In a battle at 12 o’clock the Doctor stood opposite Gunslinger. But before he could shoot the Doctor, he used his sonic screwdriver to set off the alarm of the other doctor’s spaceship. However, Gunslinger realised he was being tricked by the towns people.

He was angered that the doctor managed to escape so that he couldn’t be avenged. But in the doctor’s final words he said: “You have killed enough. I have to face the souls I have wronged. Goodbye Doctor.”

This left Gunslinger in charge of the town to protect it for years to come.
