Demi Lovato Opens Up About One Direction's Niall Horan

Demi Lovato is high in demand these days.

The Give Your Heart a Break singer, 20, and One Direction’s Niall Horan, 18, shared dinner after the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles on Sept. 6, where the rumored couple went to Pink Taco on Sunset Boulevard after picking up Moonman awards at the show.

But are the singer’s much-speculated romance really what it appears to be?

"There is nothing going on. Niall's my friend," Lovato told E! News Tuesday.

Just to be clear, it could all be a professional relationship since Lovato and Horan are both part of the X Factor family. (Horan has been tweeting both Lovato and fellow judge L.A. Reid lately.)

"I'm really happy for One Direction and the success that they've had," Lovato added, pointing out that Simon Cowell helped form the group on the U.K.’s X Factor. "It just goes to show you how crazy this competition is to making stars and the success that they have. He's a good friend of mine."

If the teen heartthrob isn’t her man, than who is Lovato noting as more than just her friend?

"I'm just focusing on my work right now, and that's pretty much that," she said.

With the X Factor’s premiere kicks off Wednesday night on Fox, there will be plenty of it to keep the former Disney star occupied -- and she’s also shared her picks for the show’s new host.

"I have two favorites on that list," Lovato said when told the following celebrities reportedly being considered: Corbin Bleu Kevin Jonas, Khloé Kardashian, Mario Lopez, Kevin McHale and Chrissy Teigen.
