David Walliams To Star In James Bond Movie?

    WennWenn

David Walliams may be friends with Bond producer Barbara Brocolli, but even that won't get him a role in the multi-million pound franchise. We're not surprised, as apparently he wants to play Miss Moneypenny...

The 'Little Britain' star is reportedly an avid fan of the series, even throwing a Bond themed party to mark his 41st birthday this year. He thinks that his friendship with iconic 007 producer Barbara Broccoli could land him a role, but Barbara has other ideas.

He's always been partial to crossdressing, and according to The Sun, David asked Barbara if he could play a male version of Miss Moneypenny. The famous part has previously been played by actresses such as Lois Maxwell and Samantha Bond.

The Sun quoted David as saying: "I'm really good friends with Bond producer Barbara Broccoli and I did ask if I could be Moneypenny.

I said 'If M is a woman, why can't Moneypenny be a man and have a crush on Bond?'."

But it seems he might not get to realise his dream, as he added: "She just laughed. And not in a good way!"

The actor also explained his excitement for the 2012 Bond movie, entitled Skyfall. Daniel Craig returns as the suave British spy, while the smouldering Javier Bardem takes the role of baddie Raoul Silva.

"Bond films are only as good as the villain. Javier Bardem is the villain in Skyfall so I'm assuming it's going to be fantastic," Walliams exclaimed.

    We can't wait, either!
