Having seen a few judges come and go during his time on American Idol, Randy Jackson has given his expert opinion on who should replace Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul on the X Factor USA.
With a whole host of names, including Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry, rumoured to be of interest to Simon Cowell, Digital Spy reports Randy saying that it should be Mariah Carey who should be given the job.
He said: "She'd be amazing. I manage her, of course I'm going to say that. Don't know if that's ever going to happen, but I think Simon's one of the smartest people I know."
Randy might want to have a chat with Mariah's husband Nick Cannon who claimed that the show would be a step down for her.
Despite the competition between American Idol and the X Factor USA, Randy went onto reveal how close he was to Simon.
He added: "I'm sure he's got some very interesting ideas up his sleeve... Simon's one of my dearest friends in the world."
Asked how he felt about Nicole and Paula's departure from the X Factor USA, Randy admitted that he felt sorry for Paula, saying: "I'm sad to hear about all what's going on with that show. But all of those people are dear friends of mine as you know. I have not spoken to Paula. I mean, we texted back and forth."
