American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez has described the show's Hollywood week as "brutal" after a hopeful fainted during the process.
The star, who has vowed to be tougher on the new season, has been handing out golden tickets to hopefuls in auditions across the US with Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler.
Describing the next stage of the competition, Digital Spy reports Jennifer saying: "We had kids falling by the wayside... Kids were forgetting their words. Shaking in their voice. People we thought were going to be in the Top 10 were just crumbling. We were like, 'What is going on?'. I guess it was the pressure of seeing the previous season and how it was big."
Echoing Jennifer's comments, American Idol's executive producer Nigel Lythgoe recently tweeted:
"Hollywood #AmericanIdol week is so tough. 5 contestants collapsed with one falling dramatically from the stage. It was extremely frightening (sic)."
Sounds like the hopefuls are being put through their paces!
