We've been looking forward to the new series of The X Factor ever since the last one ended.

And now The X Factor start date has been revealed as Saturday 18th August, we're marking it in our calendars in permanent pen and doing a little celebratory jig.
ITV confirmed today that The X Factor will air at 8pm on 18th August, with the first show being full of (we hope) cringeworthy auditions.
It'll also be on for a marathon 75 minutes so we're taking that as permission to order in a huge takeaway and crack open the wine.

We're mainly itching to see what new judge, Nicole Scherzinger is like in her role. We're also very excited to see Tulisa and Nicole battling it out in the fashion stakes.
Until Nicole Scherzinger was announced as the fourth member of the X Factor panel, there was a series of stand in judges, so we're also looking forward to seeing how Geri Halliwell and Rita Ora handled the role.
