Nicole Scherzinger's position on the X Factor judging panel could be in trouble after it's reported that producers are planning on replacing her with guest judge Mel B.

Despite us genuinely loving the series so far, viewing figures are the lowest in years and in a bid to improve ratings it's believed producers are in talks which would mean axing Nicole.
Many commentators on Twitter have often asked 'where is Nicole?' and reckon Mel B would do a much better job as a permanent judge.

It is now reported that producers agree and are planning on offering Mel B a permanent judging role in place of Nicole.
The reports also suggest that producers blame the introduction of guest judges as the main reason that not as many people are tuning in this year.

We will admit, we do sometimes get a tad confused when Rita Ora suddenly transforms into Leona Lewis and vice versa after every audition.
As the source says: "The guest judges just don't work. It's great for audiences who are watching live but it doesn't translate well on the telly. People get confused as the lineup's always changing from song to song."
We don't understand why they don't just feature one guest judge a week? Surely that would make things far easier?
However, if these rumours are to be believed then it did get us thinking — could Nicole be facing some X Factor karma after jumping in Cheryl Cole's seat after she got the chop from the US show.
