X Factor finalists Lucy Spraggan and Jade Ellis say they are gay and proud of it.

Lucy says she has always been comfortable with her sexuality and that most of her songs are about her last relationship with a 27 year old woman.
Speaking to Look magazine, the singer songwriter says: "Saying I was gay was like saying "I'm going to the shop", there was no shock."

Lucy also confesses that when she was growing up, struggling to identify with her sexuality, she would make her family call her 'Max' and even shaved her head.
"I've always been "out". I was never really "in". I made my family call me Max when I was four and shaved my head to look like a boy. "

However, one family member who didn't know was Lucy's granddad who ended up finding out on Google!
Lucy says: "My granddad found out on Google recently and said, "We've got loads of grandchildren, one of them was bound to be gay"."
Meanwhile, fellow contestant Jade Ellis admits she does get stick about her sexuality however, has chosen to shrug off any 'ignorant' insults.
Jade says: "I've had very ignorant people shout out "lesbian" in the street, but it's not a derogatory thing to me."
