Last night the X Factor had its biggest shock of the series so far when favorites' Jade Ellis and Union J ended up in the bottom two.

Following the sing off, Jade Ellis was the unlucky act to be sent home, leaving Union J to sing for another week.

Talking exclusively to omg! today, Jade revealed that boy band Union J couldn't stop apologising and crying after it was revealed that they had been saved over her.

She told us: "There were lots of tears from the boys, we're a very close group this year so whoever goes it's going to be very emotional."

"I've heard' I'm sorry' about a million times from them.  I was like 'don't be sorry' just go out next week and absolutely kill it."

On leaving the show, Jade Ellis was understandably disappointed but admitted that she was happy with how far she had got.

She said: "I'm a little bit devastated, no one wants to leave but there is such stiff competition this year that I'm really happy with what I did."

When asked why she thought she may have ended up in the bottom two, Jade couldn't pin point any particular reason.

She explained: "I don't really know it's really hard to call, you can never really go by anything other than the public vote and you don't really know what makes the public vote."

"This year we've got a lot of cute boy bands in so I'm sure that helps them. I think that like I said before this is an extremely hard year and it's almost impossible to call what's gonna happen."

She added: "You just cannot tell. It's been a different bottom two every week, Rylan had a hard two weeks and even he's clear of it now so you really can't tell."
