Tonight's X Factor saw Gary Barlow and Nicole Scherzinger lock horns over controversial contestant Rylan Clark.

The Essex singer performed an energetic version of Spandau Ballet's 'Gold' which saw Rylan dressed in suitably shiny attire.
After his performance, Gary Barlow told Rylan: "I embarrassed to be sat here. I said no to you on your first audition and (pointing at Tulisa and Louis) you should be ashamed of yourselves for putting him through."
However, Gary Barlow then turned his attention to Nicole asking her how she was able to show her face this evening after Rylan's performance.
Not taking well to the criticism, Nicole retorted: "Don't be an old frumpy fart now!"

Nicole Scherzinger then revealed that she knew more about Gary's past that he probably realised.
She told Gary: "Might I remind you that there is a little video that Take That did called 'Do What you Like?'"
The video in question saw Gary and his band mates frolicking about in lycra and covering themselves in jelly.
The phrase 'those who frolic naked in jelly shouldn't throw stones' springs to mind.
An embarrassed Gary simply replied: "22 years later and I'm still here."

Tonight also saw the result of the Wildcard vote.
At the beginning of the show, Dermot revealed that Christopher Maloney had polled the most votes, taking the 13th and final place in the competition.
On hearing the news, Christopher broke down into tears and told Dermot: "I just want to thank everyone who voted for me, I'm just so happy!"
The X Factor returns tomorrow when one of the 13 acts will leave the competition for good.
