Last night's X Factor wasn't just a battle of the singers it was also the first round of Nicole Scherzinger and Tulisa's fash-off.

And from last night's outfits, there was one clear winner.
As the infamous sliding doors opened, Nicole and Tulisa emerged dressed in vastly contrasting outfits.
Dressed in a huge navy blue puff ball gown by Carlotta, Tulisa looked like she was ready for her high school prom rather than the first X Factor live show.

The singer teamed her outfit with a pair of open toe heels and a giant silver and sapphire necklace.
Nicole Scherzinger on the other hand went the other way wearing a form fitting IZMAYLOVA little black dress.
The eye catching dress was made up of some daring sheer and leather panels.
Nicole teamed her outfit with a pair of ankle boots and minimal gold jewellery.
Sorry Tulisa, but round one goes to Nicole.

She may have lost the first fash-off but Tulisa easily beat Nicole when it came to her acts.
All three of Tulisa's girls; Ella Henderson, Jade Ellis and Lucy Spraggan, received high praise from the judges after they performed.
Nicole Scherzinger's boys on the other hand garnered a mixed bag of comments.
Rylan Clark and James Arthur both received varied reviews from the judges with only Jahmene Douglas coming out unscathed following his rendition of John Lennon's 'Imagine'.
The X Factor returns tonight at 8pm on ITV1 when the first act will leave the competition.
