Simon Cowell: We’re going to mix up the X Factor panel this yearWe talk exclusively to Britain’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell ahead of the new series
The N-Dubz star is reportedly set to be fired from being a judge on ITV1 talent show, with sources telling The Sun her time on the show is up.
And we can exclusively reveal that Simon Cowell gave his first hints to Yahoo! omg! in an exclusive interview just four weeks ago that the 24-year-old would be getting the boot.
Speaking exclusively to Yahoo! omg! at the Britain's Got Talent auditions, Mr Cowell said he reckoned it was time things were mixed up on the show.
He said: "We're going to mix it up, yeah", before winking at our reporter Amy.
He added: "No-one's decided yet. No-one's contracts have been picked up. There are a series of meetings taking place in a couple of week's time. All the Brits are coming in, all the Americans and we're gonna make some decisions then."
So we take it from today's news that those meeting have taken place and that Tulisa has not come out of things well.
The Sun reports this morning that execs on the programme have decided she simply wasn't up to the job.
A source told the paper: “Quite apart from her performance on last year’s show, you can’t have a singer whose album only reached No35 in the charts sitting in judgment on other singers.
“Tulisa has been on the panel for two years. She had a good run, but all good things come to an end.”
And it seems she isn't the only star to be at risk, with age old panellist Louis Walsh also apparently in danger.
But it's believed that Simon isn't keen on letting his old pal go.
An insider told the paper that ITV bosses think it’s time for him to leave while Simon is desperate for him to stay.
They said: “He will fight tooth and nail to keep him on the show. It hasn’t reached the shouting stage yet — but if it does, Simon is prepared for the fight.”
