Well we always assumed but it's good to get clarification.
The boys were answering fan question on ITV1's Daybreak this morning and were asked if they would name Justin Bieber as a friend.
Zayn answered on behalf of the group saying: "It's a real friendship, yeah, but we know him through showbiz so it's a bit of a weird one."
Ah the weird world of celebrity friendships eh?

Now we've always imagined if One Direction were to get a sixth member it would most probably be Mr Bieber, however, it turns out that the boys have different ideas.
When asked who they would choose, all five of the boys pointed at Daybreak presenter and singer Aled Jones to which he responded: "You've made my life boys, thank you."
We can see it now, the boys and Aled releasing a reworked version of 'Walking in the Air' this Christmas.
