Plenty of flesh was on display at the Met Gala on Monday, but most of it was bare backs as celebrities embrace the backless trend at the Costume Institute Gala at NYC's Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Last night at the Schiaparelli and Prada 'Impossible Conversations' Costume Institute Gala, we got an eyeful of several A-listers' backs thanks to their revealing dresses.

As well as backless gowns, the red carpet was full of the metallic, peplum and feathers trends.
Rihanna led the way with her slinky Tom Ford dress in black.
The singer went for an animal skin effect material and a leg slit too.
Gwyneth Paltrow rocked the backless trend in her Prada dress.

The actress shimmered in silver and wore her hair up, just like RiRi and Renee Zellweger.
Renee Zellweger kept her locks away from her skin to show off as much back as possible.
Her backless Pucci dress had a long train to make up for the lack of material on her back *giggles*
Like Cameron Diaz, Camilla Belle was doubly trendy in a metallic backless Ralph Lauren dress.
She too went for an updo as well as drop earrings to accentuate her neck.
