Madonna followed Kate Middleton's lead and embraced the black lace trend in a stunning Dolce & Gabbana cape over a Jean Paul Gaultier dress at the premiere of her film W.E. in London last night.
The singer turned director brought a splash of colour to the Odeon Kensington with her bright red lips and matching fingerless gloves and YSL heels.
Black lace is the way to go right now, with the Duchess of Cambridge donning the material for the War Horse premiere on Sunday, and Kelly Brook jumping on board the trend in a cute high street number.
Madonna was joined by stars of the film Andrea Riseborough and Natalie Dormer. The latter embraced that black lace trend too.

Madonna gave some rather intriguing quotes while talking about her film about Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson on the red carpet last night.
She said: "This movie shows that there is no such thing as perfect love, that all love requires compromise or sacrifice. The other thing is that nothing is as it seems. You can look from the outside and think it's one thing but once you start investigating, it's something completely different."

We're intrigued by this 'nothing is at it seems' idea, as Madonna caused a stir on Twitter yesterday when she revealed the name of her new album is MDNA.
Fans speculated on Twitter about whether the initials were a shortened version of her name, or whether there was a hidden meaning related to the drug in Ecstasy MDMA.
One thing's for sure: Madonna keeps us interested.
