He’s kept quiet following a dramatic and trying few days.
But now Liam Payne has finally spoken out about the explosion at his flat that left close friend Andy Samuels rushed to hospital after suffering from 20% burns.
The 20-year-old One Direction singer took to Twitter to thank fans for their support over since the accident.
He wrote: “Thanks for all the support at this time it's been a tough few days and it's only made me value everything so much more.”
Liam’s friend Andy is still in hospital after suffering from burns to his arms, chest and legs when a gas heater exploded while he was trying to light it.
Andy’s father Matthew Baker previously thanked Liam for his quick thinking that saved his son’s life.
He told The Mirror: "We are so grateful to Liam because he saved his life.
"The lantern just exploded as Andy was lighting it and it took the full force of the flames.
“Liam helped him by beating out the flames and dousing him with water. He acted quickly and swiftly."
Fan tweets flooded in for the One Direction star’s act of bravery including "Not all superheroes wear capes” from one user, and "Liam really proved that this is true by saving his best friend from the fire,” from another.
The fire destroyed Liam’s Canary Wharf flat’s balcony after taking 35 fire fighters and 45 minutes to put out the blaze.
