Kate Middleton and Prince William welcome a baby (puppy) to the family

Kate Middleton is NOT pregnant, before you jump to any baby-bump conclusions but she and Prince William have welcomed a new addition into their family.

Clarence House confirmed yesterday that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge adopted a puppy. Awww.

The four-legged royal pet was initially introduced to the couple at the start of the year and is now a permanent fixture in their lives.

A Palace aide said: "The puppy is theirs, he belongs to a litter of cocker spaniels from one of Carole Middleton's friends near home.

"At first they had just taken it home for a short period of time to see how they adapt."

And by the sound of things it looks as if Kate and Wills have taken to puppy parenting with aplomb.

So we imagine when there is the pitter-patter of tiny royal feet they'll do equally as good a job.

It should read SHE and Prince William - not HER and Prince William. Where do they recruit these "journalists"?

If it is the black dog above in the left hand picture it ain't a Cocker Spaniel!

Although I, too, find Cocker Spaniel puppies irresistible, it would have been a wonderful gesture if the Duke and Duchess had adopted a rescue dog instead of a pure-bred from a breeder. The royals do serve as role models. . . .

They should have adopted a rescue dog. For me that would have shown them in a better light.

Yahoo get dafter. If you put a headline saying 'adoption' why would the first line of the story be about not jumping to conclusions about a baby bump and pregnancy? Do they know how adoption works?

It is quite inspiring to have such a handsome couple as 'next in line'....they both seem genuine and will do great work promoting 'Great Britain Ltd' on the world stage.....
