Kate Middleton has kicked off her much-loved L.K Bennett patent nude heels for a pair of black shoes  as she joined the rest of the royals in Edinburgh this morning.

Apparently it's a really big deal and is the highest honour in Scotland — oooh err.

She stepped out in a fitted coat featuring a feminine lower half. Instead of wearing her much-loved nude heels that are probably super comfy for standing in all day, Kate decided to wear black heels and a tartan clutch (formerly seen at the Jubilee celebrations) for the occasion.

To ensure her hair was perfect she rocked a half up 'do and there wasn't a strand out of place — clearly the muggy climate isn't making her locks go frizzy.
