Gary Barlow: Youngsters like Union J and Ella Henderson don’t know what it’s like to really want it

Gary Barlow has said that he thinks some of the younger contestants on this year's X Factor don't understand the meaning of really wanting to win.

Talking to omg! alongside his Over 28's category, Gary believed that when the younger contestants such as Ella Henderson and Union J say they've never wanted anything more than to be a singer, it by no means compares to the how long his category has wanted it.

Gary explained: "I've heard the sixteen-year-olds saying 'I've never wanted anything so badly', these guys [the Over 28's] have wanted this for 15 years extra, more in some cases."

"These guys, when they say they want this, they really want this."

He added: "These guys have wanted this for years and when they go out on a Saturday night, this is really their moment."

This Saturday will see the first of the lives shows and Gary Barlow is confident that his category will nail their performances.

"I'm very confident, I'm really excited for Saturday's show- it's going to be a massive week for these guys in particular, an enormous weekend. I think it's going to be brilliant."

With Gaz behind them 100%, we think the over 28's should fare well come this Saturday.

Last year, Gary and veteran judge Louis Walsh came to blows on more than one occasion but this year Gary is hoping they will be able to turn over a new leaf.

He told us: "I'm hoping that me a Louis can rekindle our relationship. That would be nice this year- our love for one another we have."

"We love each other- but by the end [of the series] it could be very different."

We'll brace ourselves for the fallout just in case.
