Gary Barlow has confessed that he nearly quit X Factor after Carolynne Poole was given the axe in place of Rylan Clark.

The head judge revealed that he was so genuinely angry that Carolynne was sent home he seriously contemplated quitting in that moment.
Gary told The Metro: "Straight away after what happened last week I thought I don't want to do this ¬anymore," he revealed.
Gary said that what happened just isn't what he thought the show was about, and it was this that upset him the most.

"I just thought "this isn't the way I imagined it to be. After what I've just seen, the singer who did the worst has stayed".
"I was even more upset than I appeared on the show. I was trying to hide it because I knew the -cameras were on me."
Trying to hide it? Didn't he chuck a massive strop and thump off the stage on live TV?
Or maybe he was just super keen to catch the start of Homeland over on Channel 4.

However, Gary says its not Rylan he is ultimately angry at, it's Louis Walsh:
"Sunday night was a disaster. To be honest, I'm having problems looking at Louis at the moment, let alone talking to him."
"I was angry with Louis and I blame him for what happened because he made her wait and wait and wait."
Hmm, we are starting to question the sincerity of last night's handshake.
