Chris Brown forced to pull out of doomed Michael Jackson tribute concert just 24 hours before gig

Michael Jackson was heralded as the Kind of Pop, so a concert created to commemorate his incredible talent should be fit for royalty, right?

You'd think so! But the event appears to be anything but as the Michael Forever gig in Cardiff tomorrow night has turned from tribute to tragedy, with endless disasters — just this morning another act has left the line-up and Facebook have stopped their involvement.

Chris BrownNo shows: Chris Brown and The Black Eyes Peas have pulled out of the tribute gig just days before the event

Chris Brown is the latest star to pull out, after being denied entry to the UK. The singer's working visa was rejected by authorities due to his criminal record for the 2009 assault on Rihanna.

Organisers rejected the idea that the 22-year old would perform via a video link as Beyonce plans to.

Brown's departure from the line-up comes just days after the headline act, Black Eyed Peas, bailed on the show. The band blamed 'unavoidable circumstances' sparking split rumours which they have since denied.

Michael Jackson concertVanishing act: The line up on the concert’s website today is a shadow of its former self

Earlier this morning Facebook also jumped ship. The hugely popular social networking site planned to broadcast the concert, but today announced they will not continue their commitment citing rights issues as the cause. *OKAAAAY THEN*

Dire ticket sales have also plagued the event, with reports of poor purchasing figures surfacing a month ago.

Facebook group 'Fans Against Michael Jackson Forever Tribute' protested against Ticketmaster's BOGOF (Buy one get one free) promotion, with mjstar.com allegedly slashing prices in half due to the £95 price tag.

Michael JacksonTrue icon: The concert was supposed to pay homage to a man with a magnitude of talent

And arguably the saddest part of the entire affair is that the Jackson family has been torn apart by the show, with family members being split on two sides — those supporting the event and those against it.

Michael's brothers Marlon, Tito and Jackie, his sister La Toya, who will be performing live in public for the first time in nearly 20 years, his mother Katherine and his children are all in support of the show.

However, Jermaine, Randy and Janet have criticised the tribute due to its timing, which coincides with the manslaughter trial of Michael's former doctor.

All omg! wants to ask is 'What would Michael think?' For an artist who seemed to care so much about his fans (as anyone who's seen 'This Is It' will know), it's unlikely he would be happy to witness such a shambles.

Dont organisers live in the real world ? They must know people havent got £95 to throw away these days for tickets, its hard enough to pay household bills. They must think folk are going to just throw any amount at them so they can line their filthy pockets

Just wondering why a family which appears to care for him so much in death, wasn't there for him in his disastrous life?

he knew he would be refused entry into UK, the organisers would have know aswell so why sign him up??

Also, why is it being held in Cardiff? was Cardiff particulary important to MJ or something?

It cost less than £95 to see the man himself! Michael doesn't need it. His family don't need it. The talentless nerds on stage don't need it. So who's all this money for? So it seems that a fitting tribute to Jackson is making money, not music. My money is better appreciated in the Rose and Crown and a couple of dozen pints of the amber nectar.

Bad timing, strange choice of venue, B list acts, no great surprise there's scant interest in it.

theres only one that can sing mj's songs that was mj himself,i think its a cheap trick to do a tribute concert,we all have our own memories, good, sad, and bad of mj,they would only sing their version of the songs of mj,some artists sound #$%$ doing their own stuff, sound even worse live, people would like to hear mj recordings of his work, videos, vinyls, tapes,cd's it would slash the cost,he turned into a druggie in the end was an overdose that killed him,an overdose of drugs

To be honest a lot of people, famous or no, didn't like Plastic Man.

So why organise a tribute concert for him in the first place. ?

It seems to me that the show shouldn’t go ahead anyway. I don’t feel that the Jackson family should have gone ahead with the concert. It’s pointless. Plus, its other singers singing Michael’s songs, not the man himself, so I wouldn’t really enjoy it. The concert doesn’t fit in with the schedule of The Murray Trial either. Everything seems to be going wrong e.g. Chris brown having being denied entry into he UK, Black Eyed Peas not attending due to split rumours, and Facebook not broadcasting the subject. People, this is a sign that this concert should never have taken place. It’s all MONEY, MONEY, MONEY! No more MJ tributes. Leave Michael be
