In the new book which we actually cannot *wait* to get our hands on, Cheryl talks about Katie's stint back on the 2010 series of X Factor.
Basically, the former judge implies that is wasn't Katie's voice that put her through, but her ability to make 'good tv'.
Just what we are sure Katie wants to hear.
Cheryl writes: "Simon [Cowell] had spent the past two years drumming into me that we needed acts who would be 'good TV'.
*cough* Rylan *cough*

"When I saw Katie perform this time [at Judges' Houses], I had to admit that she was ... quirky, intriguing and busting to succeed."
And er, 'good tv' we take it?
"In short, she had the character and drive it took to withstand the pressure of the show, and so I put her through, even though she messed up when she sang in front of Will."
We think this is pretty fair.
However, it would seem Katie is not happy with Cheryl's version of events and she took to Twitter to let Cheryl know her thoughts:
"@cherylcole thought you were better than this. Shame I trusted you. you live and you learn."
Er, burning bridges springs to mind!

However, we can imagine why Katie might be feeling a bit frustrated.
After all, also in her category was Cher Lloyd who is absolutely huge pretty much everywhere and Rebecca Ferguson who just performed back on X Factor over the weekend.
While Katie is er… sorry, what is she doing again?
