Cheryl Cole says that meeting Nicole Sherzinger for the first time was 'awkward' and 'so embarrassing'.

In a leaked page from her forthcoming autobiography My Story, Cheryl reveals exactly what happened the first time the pair met ahead of the ill fated US X Factor.
Cheryl says she first met Nicole backstage at X Factor when she was a judge in the UK.

Or as we like to call them, the good old days.
The Girls Aloud star says Nicole decided to sing her own song, Promise This at her which Chezza says was 'so embarrassing'.

Cheryl compares it to singing Baby one More Time to Britney Spears at which point our brains like to add 'in the style of Darius Danesh off Popstars'.
Cheryl writes: "I swear to God the woman sang the whole song, to my face. It was just so awkward."
Er, not as awkward as the next time you two are in the same room…
So we get the feeling things still aren't too smooth between the pair then?
Well, we aren't too surprised after Nicole did end up sort of, kind of steal Cheryl's X Factor USA job.
OK, so she 'replaced' her, but we are pretty sure that's not exactly how Chezza remembers things.
