The 36-year-old actress wrote of how touched she was by the messages she had received from her supporters.

She wrote: “I can't begin to express my love and gratitude for such kind and encouraging messages. I'm truly so touched. I love you guys. Thank you.”

The full extent of Martine McCutcheon’s bankruptcy has now been revealed, with the actress' debt amounting to £187,000.

The ‘Perfect Moment’ singer reportedly owes £149,000 of her debt to HM Revenue & Customs.

At the height of her career, Martine was earning an incredible £250,000 a year for her portrayal of beloved Eastenders character Tiffany Mitchell.

Unfortunately for Martine, thanks to her character being tragically being killed off in 1998, a return to Eastenders seems unlikely.

Saying this, Dirty Den did come back from the dead- so why not Tiffany?

The reason why Martine has found herself in so much debt could be attributed to her love of the finer things in life.

In a previous interview, the actress admitted that she was a lover of 'nice things'.

She said: “I love nice things – I consider Ralph Lauren sheets to be a necessity, not a luxury – but I’ve known what it’s like to be poor.

“I always take care of my stuff. I adore Julien Macdonald, Valentino, Chanel and Balenciaga. But even if I only spend a small amount, I’m so nouveau riche that as long as something is beautifully wrapped, I get a huge thrill.”

Martine McCutcheon is set to be discharged from bankruptcy in January of next year.
