Alexa Chung looks painfully thin at New York Fashion Week, we’re worried

We love Alexa Chung as much as the next person, so we're worried to see how thin the British TV presenter is looking at New York Fashion Week events this week.

She bared her incredibly slim legs and arms in a pale outfit at the launch party for NYFW on Wednesday, the amfAR New York Gala at Cipriani Wall Street.

Even though Alexa then covered up in a coat and tights on Thursday at the Honor Fall 2012 fashion show at Lincoln Center, her tiny frame was still visible.

Alexa has spoken about her figure over the years, telling British Elle in October 2010: "I cannot express how frustrating it is to not be believed when you say, 'I don't have an eating disorder.'

"I am naturally very thin. I get even thinner when I'm stressed. And you cannot imagine how stressed I was last year.

"It angers me because I don't want to be a pin-up for young girls just for being thin. I don't want to be admired for being thin as opposed to being dressed well, and I don't want the two to get confused."

Nutritionist Helen Money told the Daily Mail: "Alexa does appear to be losing further weight. Weight is simply 'calories in' vs 'calories out'. From her reported comments about stress, if her 'calories in' is down plus her 'calories out' is up she will lose weight!

"Whilst many people find it hard to eat when they are stressed a good healthy diet supports the nervous system and helps us cope with stress better."

We hope the presenter's slim frame isn't a sign of too much stress. We love ya, Alexa!

When she was a TV presenter she was a pretty regular size. As soon as she got back into fashion, being on magazine covers and the 'muse' of certain designers, regular was no longer acceptable. I'm sure I read once that she hated her previous career as a model...

She is definately too thin but it is not fair to say someone has a disorder just because of that. I know a girl who had anorexia and it had nothing to do with obsession or pressure to be thin. I also know a girl who is size 6 at 5"8 who could eat as much as a grown man.

Sorry i do not believe that some one is that thin naturally. she needs 3 good healthy hearty meals a day. How can she be at these fashion shows being pictured when she is no where near the picture of health or looking like a decent role model.
