It's been nearly two weeks since Chantelle Houghton and Alex Reid officially broke up and now Alex has finally broken his silence in an odd public plea to his ex.

In a bizarre interview with NOW TV today, Alex talked directly to Chantelle (and the world) about how he wants to work things out.
Seemingly holding back the tears, Alex said to the Chantelle: "I really want things to work but things have to change. I'm talking here today because I love you and I love Dolly and that I want it to work."
However, Alex then went on to berate his ex over her use of her weekly columns in new! magazine to vent her anger about him.
He explained: "There have been so many untruths said and I feel like if I don't say something it's just going to get worse and worse."
"Things have to change; you can't keep venting your anger on me in your column. It's not helping; I'm trying to work this out."

Alex then concluded: "Every couple argues but you don't need to tell the world our problems, I know you love me, I hope you love me. Let's sort this out."

The video comes after Chantelle's most recent column, published today, in which she wrote that she is struggling with the split.
Chantelle wrote: "It's been a difficult week, as I'm sure people will understand. It's only been a matter of days since Alex and I split so it's still very raw and I'm really, really upset."
"I tried everything in my power to make my relationship work. I have been trying to keep myself busy with Dolly- after all; she is the most important one in all of this."
Chantelle posted on her Twitter today that she will be suing NOW magazine following claims Alex has made in an exclusive upcoming interview to be released on 24 September.
