Rachel McAdams and Michael Sheen 'split' after two years

Following the news last night that Michelle Williams and Jason Segel have called time on their relationship, it seems break-ups are in the air.

And this time it's British actor Michael and Canadian star Rachel who are the latest celebrity romance to bite the dust - according to US magazine.

The American mag reports that a source has confirmed to them that the pair have ended their love affair.

There are so far no reasons to why they have broken up as yet known. Perhaps it was just the February blues like the rest of us?

Rachel, 34, and Michael, 44, first made their romance public back in October 2010 after falling for each other on the set of Woody Allen's film 'Midnight In Paris'.

But the actress was always coy about when they got together, telling The Sunday Telegraph Stella magazine: "Michael and I didn't get together while we were filming Midnight in Paris, which I feel strongly about not doing when I'm working.

"We became quite good friends, which I think is a great way to start. I felt very blessed to have made a Woody Allen film in Paris together."

Rachel's last major relationship was with Notebook co-star (and serious hunk) Ryan Gosling. The pair were together between 2005 and 2007 and were briefly engaged.

Meanwhile Michael Sheen was with Hollywood beauty Kate Beckinsale from 1995 to 2003 and the pair have a daughter, Lily, together.
