Nick Grimshaw: Harry Styles gets more attention than Rihanna, it’s so full-on

Harry Styles has reached such a god-like status that he can barely pop out for some crumpets without being flattened by a bunch of Directioners.

And his best pal Nick Grimshaw has confirmed that the level of public Harry pouncing is indeed ridiculous.

Grimmy, who debuted his Radio 1 breakfast show yesterday by calling up One Direction's Cheshire hottie, has revealed to heat that Harry gets mobbed even more than Rihanna.

He told them: "He gets more attention than anyone I have ever, ever witnessed! It's so full-on.

"Having been on The X Factor as well, it's like people - quite rightly - think, 'I voted for you, so pay me attention!' People wouldn't go up to, say, Rihanna the same way as they go up to him."

And although Hazza is 10 years younger than Grimmers, the DJ reckons he has a lot to learn from the 18-year-old.

Asked whether he feels he has to protect Harry Styles from the craziness, he told heat: "I don't feel protective - he's smart and savvy enough to not need a protector. He's probably wiser and more clued up about things than me.

"He's conquered America and all that, and I'm like, "Let me tell you about the time I DJed in Milton Keynes..." He's like 'I've just played Madison Square Garden, so I'm fine for advice thanks."

And while we've wondered many a time what it would be like to hang out with the duo and wear cardigans in Shoreditch, Nick reckons the main thing they do is a laugh together.

He added: "We do all sorts together. We're both northern and we get on well because we've got a similar sense of humour."

Meanwhile Harry Styles' bandmate Zayn Malik has been back on the front pages of cyber space this morning after a recording of a voice that sounded *rather* like him appeared to be asking girls to his hotel room.

We really hope that it's not Zayn in the voice recording - which allegedly sees him telling the girls to come straight up to his room. You can hear the American girls joking about classy stuff such as booty. And Harry Styles' name is thrown in there too. Oh dear...
