Eamonn Holmes was forced to don his most apologetic face this morning on ITV to express the show's "deep regret" at accidentally revealing an unblurred copy of the snap.

He said: "Earlier during today's news review we were discussing photographs of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on a beach in Mustique published in an Italian magazine.

"Unfortunately we accidentally showed an unblurred image of the magazine cover, which briefly showed the photographs.

"This was a deeply regrettable error and we are very sorry. We apologise unreservedly to the Duke and the Duchess."

The pictures of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on a private holiday are due to be published in FOUR different magazines across the globe.

The snaps - which were apparently sold for £250,000 - show Kate in a bikini, with her baby bump on show.

A spokesperson for St James' Palace said: "We are disappointed that photographs of the Duke and Duchess on a private holiday look likely to be published overseas."

This isn't the first time pictures of Kate and Wills on a private holiday have been published.

Kate was left red-faced last year when topless bikini pictures graced the front cover of a French magazine.
