Ever since Beyonce and Jay-Z welcomed Blue Ivy Carter on January 7, we've been eagerly anticipating a glimpse, and the proud parents have now shared the first pictures on their blog.

The new parents could have sold the first baby snaps for a huge amount of money in an exclusive magazine deal, but instead they chose to take control and share the pictures on their own site.
Bey and Jay set up a Tumblr blog on Friday called Hello Blue Ivy Carter, and posted five pictures.

They added a handwritten message saying: "We welcome you to share in our joy.
"Thank you for respecting our privacy during this beautiful time in our lives.
"The Carter Family."

One picture shows Beyonce cradling her daughter, and one shows Jay-Z holding his newborn.
There are two pictures of Blue Ivy on her own, one with her gazing past the lens of the camera, and one of her looking snugly whilst sleeping.
In the fifth shot, Blue Ivy's tiny hand rests on her mother's three fingers. Adorable!
